About us

Mission Statement

At HOCHA, our mission is to eliminate the fear and stigma surrounding HIV/AIDS by identifying and supporting children and adolescents (ages 1–21) living with the disease. We partner with public agencies, healthcare providers, and research organizations in the U.S. and around the world to promote prevention, treatment, control, and eventual eradication of HIV/AIDS.

Our Vision

We envision a world where all children and youth—regardless of their socioeconomic status, health background, race, religion, gender, or location—have equitable access to HIV/AIDS treatment, testing, and counseling. We aim to be a leading advocate in educating communities and reducing stigma around HIV/AIDS and related health challenges.

Our Story

The founding of HOCHA was driven by deep concern over the silent yet devastating impact of HIV/AIDS, especially among children and young adults. Recognizing its persistent and life-altering nature, we were moved to take action to protect and support the most vulnerable. In 2017, a comprehensive research project focusing on HIV testing and counseling among college students laid the foundation for HOCHA.

Inspired by its findings, HOCHA was officially incorporated as a nonprofit organization in 2019.

The COVID-19 pandemic has added new urgency to our mission. For individuals living with HIV/AIDS, the combination of both viruses can be life-threatening. This crisis highlights the continued need for robust research, education, prevention strategies, and accessible healthcare tools—including male and female condoms, face masks, sanitizers, and ultimately, a cure.

HOCHA is committed to providing a wide range of services and support, including:

  • HIV testing and counseling
  • Access to care and treatment services
  • Educational support and materials
  • Social integration and engagement programs
  • Basic needs support such as food, shelter, clothing, medication, and hygiene items
  • Advocacy for preventive care and targeted interventions
  • Stakeholder collaboration in ethical research and moral outreach

Our work is grounded in compassion, equity, and excellence. We remain dedicated to upholding our core values and empowering our supporters to join us in creating lasting change. Together, we strive to give hope—and a future—to children and adolescents living with HIV/AIDS.
